Rassi Family Spotlight.

We’ve loved having the Rassi’s a part of our Solid Rock family! It was such fun learning more about them – and we hope you love learning more as well.

Tell us a little about your family!

Caleb and I (Taylor) were married almost a year ago in February. We are a blended family and are new to Morton! Caleb works in insurance and I work as a scheduler at a nursing home.

Why did your family choose Solid Rock?

We were new to Morton and needed to find a new school. After lots of prayer and searching we found Solid Rock. Immediately after meeting with Maria and Mrs. Mathis, we knew this was where God wanted Rogan to attend school. The Christian environment and tight knit group of believers was huge for us.

What is your favorite part or what excites you most about Solid Rock?

It makes us excited and so comfortable that our son is getting one-on-one academic time with his teacher and other kids, and he also is hearing about God’s word daily and learning those important values. We love that he can earn Fruits of the Spirit and learn a new verse each month! These are so important to our family and we are so thankful he can get this not just at home and church. It truly has made a difference.

What is your child’s favorite part of school?

He loves his teacher and his friends. He’s a big people person and loves to play with other kids outside on the playground. He also has really come to like math and even reading, which he wasn’t too sure of before Solid Rock.

What does your child want to be when he grows up?

Rogan would like to be a trucker or a carpenter when he grows up. Currently he enjoys building trucks out of legos or magnets and trucking with his dad.

What is your go-to family favorite dinner?

We love going to Garners Pizza and Wings. We eat there at least 1-3 times a month since moving to Morton! We are a wing/pizza loving family!

What is a character trait you want to instill in your children?

Integrity. We feel it is so important as we serve an amazing God in a broken world. As we are called to reflect His light and glory, a heart with integrity can show hope, justice, and love to those who have no idea who our Lord and Savior is.

What would be a perfect family day for your family?

Playing board games and watching a movie. Or doing things outside together as a family.

What is your advice to families that are on the fence about sending their child to Solid Rock?

It was the best choice we ever made. Of course we were nervous at first sending our son to a new school amongst all the new changes he was going through. He has felt so loved here and because it is a school filled with like-minded believers we can trust everyday he is in a safe and good environment.

A big thanks to Taylor for taking the time for our interview! Welcome to Morton, and welcome to our big, supportive family!
