Child Development.

Did you know 90% of your Kindergartener’s brain is ALREADY formed?? A quarter size brain at birth nearly quadruples in size by the time your child reaches Kindergarten.  A newborn is born with as many neurons as he will have for the rest of his life, but it is the connections in the brain, neuron to neuron, that make each brain unique. God knit each one of our children together in their mother’s womb, and just examining the child’s brain for a few minutes reminds us how great our God is.

Our brain is the control center of our body, it controls movement, memory, speech, and thoughts. Each section of the brain can develop at different rates. Depending on what neurons had the opportunity to connect in the younger years will have a direct correlation to the brain’s ability to function in the older years. The more “well-rounded” connections we can continue to make with our students in the building blocks of their education, the more neuron connections they will be able to make later in life.

This applies to all areas of life, because if you didn’t notice before your brain affects all areas of your life! Emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual!  At Solid Rock we strive for a well-rounded student, making sure our children have the building blocks of neuron connections so they can continue to grow to their fullest potential.
