Professional Development for Teachers.

Continuing teacher education is important to us at Solid Rock. To keep up to date with our teacher’s teaching licenses they must have so many hours of professional development. It has been a challenge to give these teachers the professional development they deserve because we are not an accredited school, so any professional learning here at school is not recognized by the state.

This year we are pleased to share that we have partnered with another Christian School in Galesburg that is putting on a professional learning day in February for all small Christian schools in Central IL. Their goal during this day is to foster collaboration, develop best practices, and build strong relationships. We are so excited to have a full day of energizing our teachers to be the best they can be!

We also have gained an Occupational Therapist this year. She is willing to teach and train our teachers on effective classroom behavior plans as well as assist on any speech/fine/gross motor skills that each teacher might specifically need for students in their class.

We are so excited to be able to further our teachers’ education and are always looking for more ways to help them receive their professional development hours. We love our teachers and know God placed each of them in their specific role at Solid Rock.
