Solid Rock Christian Academy offers several enriching activities during the school day, like learning to speak Spanish in every grade, music, art, mission projects, living-in-nature classes, and more. These are all woven into our daily curriculum! However, because of our size we do not offer extra curricular sports or activities after school at this time yet, but there are lots of opportunities in our local community to be involved in, and still attending Solid Rock! Check out your local park district and local library for more information about programs in your area.
Here are a few Morton local favorites:
1. Lego Club at the Library: This club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 3:15-4:00 at the Morton Library to build legos and do Lego challenges. This is for K-3rd graders!
2. Park District Soccer: This is available for all ages older than 3 years old! There are lots of days, times, games, and clinics to be involved in. It goes year around!
3. Park District Gymnastics: This is available for all ages older than 3 years old! There are lots of days, times, and clinics to be involved in. It goes year around.
4. Swimming lessons: Check out Five Points or RiverPlex for more information to keep your child swimming throughout the winter!
5. Movin’ and Groovin’ at the Library : This club meets the first Saturday of every Month from 1-1:45pm. Students will get to experiment with different instruments and ways to make music! This is for K-3rd graders.
6. Trail Life USA: This club is a church based, Christ-centered, boy-focused mentoring and discipleship journey that speaks to the heart of our boys! They value the Bible, character, leadership, and adventure!! There is a local troop that meets at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton. Check out their website for more info!
7. Upward Sports: They host basketball for boys and cheerleading for girls, 1st to 6th graders. They focus on positive coaching and devotion to teach Christ-like values and truths. They have practices and games at Grace Church in Morton.
We are so thankful for such an involved community so our students coming to Solid Rock will not be missing out on any extracurricular opportunities!! They are endless… and this is just in our community! Please share and add more to this list!
