This month’s family spotlight is the Woodard family! We hope you enjoy this fun conversation we had with them!
Tell us a little about your family.
Our family consists of the five of us – Brandon, Tiphany, Sadie, Isaac, and the kids
won’t let me forget our huge dog, Milo. We all love being hands on in anything. We are thankful for God’s grace and the love that He gives us. We aim everyday to be a light for God’s Kingdom.
Why did your family choose Solid Rock?
Our family chose Solid Rock because of their Biblical values. All education is meaningful,
but learning about the Gospel and Jesus Christ is priceless. We believe God is first and the center of all knowledge and we are overly grateful to be involved in a school that carries the same values. We disagree with a lot that is taught in public schools and believe parents are the decision makers and should be the only ones informing our little ones on subjects outside of the general subjects.
What is your favorite part or what excites you most about Solid Rock?
The community. It is filled with a wonderful group of families who love Jesus. To see the
children encourage and support each other. I pray that the relationships grow stronger in all aspects and we all become one big family on a mission to teach our children about the love of God and then for us all to link arms and walk as light in evident darkness.
What is your child’s favorite part of school?
Recess of course! Haha He does love stem bins though too! 🙂
What does your child want to be when he grows up?
A heavy machinery operator.
What is your volunteer position at school?
We volunteer by teaching PE twice a week, helping with projects at the school building,
coordinating servant days, and helping plan programs!
What is a character trait you want to instill in your children?
Respect. I want my children to respect everyone around them and love every one for
who they are as an individual. We are all created equal and we want our children to see and value people the same. Flaws and all, to be loved and understood is important.
What would be a perfect family day for your family?
It would be a day spent in nature! Hiking and playing in creeks! Brandon says: through
the Smokey mountains! 🙂
What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?
Oh my, I love everything about Christmas; to pin it to one is realllly hard! I guess we
would say finding and cutting down our tree.
What is your advice to families that are on the fence about sending their child to Solid Rock?
My best advice is to pray. Pray about what God would have your family do and ask Him
to reveal that to you in a very clear way. We are all called to different paths. The staff, school board, and all the families involved have the best interest of each student individually. We have been incredibly happy with this first year and praise God for providing this school for so many different reasons.
Thank you so much, Woodard’s, for being apart of Solid Rock!! We are blessed by your family!
