1. What does the admission process look like?
You can begin the admission process by contacting us directly requesting more info, or pre-registering online via our “Enroll Now” portal. After that you will receive our handbook, family expectations, and official application. Once you fill out the application form and send in the application fee via mail or PayPal your application will be reviewed. After review, your family will come to a family interview where you will meet the Director and the teacher of the grade your child is applying for. The director will ask the family a few questions and the teacher will assess the child. After the interview is completed and the teacher and director have time to discuss the child, application, and interview we will accept your family and child into Solid Rock.
2. When will I know if my child is accepted?
Approximately 2-4 weeks after the family interview you can expect an email of acceptance or denial.
3. What is the application fee?
The application fee is $75 per family before April 30th and $125 after May 1st. The application fee raises to $200 after September 1st in order to receive curriculum materials and supplies in time for the beginning of school. Any mid-school applicants will also have a $200 application fee.
4. Does my child come to the family interview?
Yes! Your whole family can come to the interview. The interview will last about 20 minutes. The first 5 minutes we will get to know your family. Once your child is comfortable they will go to another room with the teacher to be assessed. We assess each child to make sure our school has the right resources for our child academically, emotionally, and socially. The director will ask the parents a few more questions while the teacher is with your child.
5. Do I have to interview every year?
No, once your family has interviewed you do not need to interview again. Only incoming students will have an assessment. (Incoming Kindergartners or other aged students that didn’t go to Solid Rock the previous year.)
